Heatwave....

It is so hot here it is just unbelievable, and from what I can see on the news, we aren't getting it as bad as those in Melbourne or Adelaide. Yesterday was a high of 43 degrees (in the shade) with it hitting 44 today and tomorrow. For those of you that don't believe it can get so hot - here is a picture of the thermometer reading in our car ...

...For those of you that have trouble seeing, that reads 51!!! That for the visitors in the US is 123.8 degrees fahrenheit - I kid you not!

Anyway - due to the extreme heat I decided to take Matthew and his friend to the local pool last night. We all enjoyed the cool down and didn't leave till close, at 9pm. Here is one of my favourite pics of the night. The kids had a blast splishing and a splashing. You may notice that Matthew's friend is wearing a head-band, this is to keep the water out of his ears, as he has grommets (ear tubes). We were lucky enough to be given one of his old head-bands to try on Tori which fits like a charm. I think we will be off to the pool with Tori sometime soon to try it out. (We would of tested it last night, but I am thinking 8pm was a little late to be taking a 21 month old out swimming).

Well, that's it for now, love to all and hugs and kisses all round. Stay cool!

Wow! We have some of the hottest weather out here in California but it never gets that hot here. I have to remember our seasons are flip flopped. It's summer in Australia now, isn't it?
Stay cool!

I like it hot and prefer the warmer seasons but 123 degrees is too much for me. Here is Sacramento, California we can get into the 110+ but I don't think I have ever seen it climb to the 120's. OUCH..that would melt the soles off your shoes.

110 is about what the meterologists are saying it is...give or take a few degrees..but they measure in the shade! So you guys know what type of heat I am talking about? Thank god it isn't too muggy today. And yep Mejane - is is summer here right now - no white Christmas for us! And Melisa, talking about melting your shoes off...I walked outside in barefeet yesterday to do something and I think I gave myself a 3rd degree burn on the sole of my left foot - lol!

I am kind of jealous of the heat. I miss spring/summer so much right now. I don't know if I could deal with 123 degrees though!
Could I ask what type of headband that is? Preston has tubes (grommets) and that would be great for the water.

I'm also kinda jealous of the warm weather, although I could deal with it being about 75-80 degrees, NOT 123!!! Even the 110 that the meteorologists say. In Sacramento we get to around 100 degrees pretty much most days throughout the summer and I'm always looking forward to cooler weather, then when it's winter I'm always looking for warmer weather. Maybe we should pack up and move to Maui! Then I'd at least have the ocean and a pool everyday!

WOW! That is hot. I would say I wish we had warm weather like that but I don't think I'd want it that hot!! Maybe just some of your warmth for our cold snowy state :) Hope it cools down a bit soon.

So glad you are where it is nice and warm. I am freezing my toes off at the moment. I want to come and go for a swim in the pool.
